1990 Ranger 2.9 Auxillary electric radiator fan?
1990 Ranger 2.9 Auxillary electric radiator fan?
Has anyone added a pusher fan to the front of the radiator to help keep the stuff cooler in stop and go traffic? These little 2.9 liter trucks seem to not like sitting and idling for extended periods just using the belt driven fan. We have had the temps climb up on the "dummy gauge" to midway on the needle, and all the sudden the air conditioner begins blowing hot and transmission begins to burp out the fluid. It has an all new cooling system, transmission oil cooler, new freeze plugs installed, new radiator, water pump, hoses and fan clutch...system seals to vacuum...but it still gets hot enough to boil out the trans fluids if we let it idle too long without driving air flow through the radiator...If you have added a pusher fan, what size fan fit it? maybe there is a kit? We want something that kicks on at 190-200...and shuts off @ 180...maybe a bypass for the air conditioner...
