97 4wd - sensor trail til I"m corrected or broke
1997 XLT 4.0 4X4 - I'm an old gal who is at the mercy of whoever has a shade tree (if i am that lucky). The check engine bulb is blown so i dont have a light coming on so the local parts stores wont run the diagnostics on it.She has had a bad oil leak due to head gasket because thats where i see oil. No h2o in fuel BUT it started running evil. Uneven idle, dies at stops, chugs down at 55 mph sometimes whatever it is "blows out" --think chunk in fuel filter like in a 68 mustang-- and straightens out. White plumes of condensation pours out.
So i changed plugs and started reviewing what i had been through before which was sensors. Many of them. I started out w the one easiest to get to: throttle position sensor. My question is: is there a reset or calibration procedure i need to do now that it has been changed?
Needless to say, its still EVIL.
THANK YOU
