1996 XLT 2.3 gas mpg check today
I had some wheel bearings replaced last week, cleaned out the interior over the weekend so decided to do an mpg check today. It probably wasn't the best day to check it, high winds in the Central Kentucky area, 30+ mph so I'm sure it's probably not as accurate as it could be, probably negatively so. But, drove almost 60 miles, mostly rural highway driving with just a few stoplights to interfere a little. XLT super cab 2 wheel drive 5 speed manual 2.3 liter, about 250,000 miles on it. Got a respectable 28 mpg. And in a calmer day without the high winds I think that could be 30. Not too shabby.
Rural highway driving usually helps with mileage, and I agree that on a calmer day, you could likely hit that 30 mpg mark. It’s always nice to see older vehicles still performing well, especially with a manual transmission like yours. Keep up the good https://tropical-casino.com/ work with your truck, and hopefully, you’ll have a chance to check the mileage again under better conditions!

Got a 2000 XLT 3.0 V6 2WD Extended cab. Automatic 82,000 original miles. Runs good. Mostly city driving. Occasional highway. Averaging about 18 MPG. Not the best but it does what I need it for. Not a daily driver.
Good to see some getting great mileage. Great little trucks. Good Luck All. I’m
