My New Winch Bumper
My New Winch Bumper
made of 1/4" thick steel... this sucker is strong and HEAVY...I designed it and two buddies adapted it to fit my truck and built it in a weekend... all complete except the winch and cutting out the space for the fairlead/cable... once the winch is on i'll be cranking the torsion bars some to level the truck back out cuz it's almost an inch lower in the front now...i also have my procomp lights mounted on the bumper now

I would replace your torsions with the heaviest ones possible..
mine have sagged 2+ inches with my modest winch mount.. also you have changed
your weight ratio badly to the front on an already front heavy/back light truck.
Also I would recommend syn winch rope vs cable.. save another 40# or so off your
overloaded front end.
I ordered my winch rope from www.peakempire.com
it was by far the best deal.

i already have the heaviest bars...but how would i go about changing the weight ratio??? never heard of this being done with our trucks...it's only the skid plate welds that suck b/c i decided to add that later so they were in a hhurry to do those... got some good pics of me and some buddies after we went mudding tonight... i will post those pics in the morning
if the welds are going to be changed on the bottom have the plate ride over the support
idea is to slide over things with little to catch onto
also if the plate is below the support it will help hold it down instead using the welds to support all the load
do you have a winch picked out already?
will it fit into the space you have configured?
