explorer center console
I've had my console installed for about 6 month now, but never took any pic's, so today I removed everything and painted the main part of it.
From the pic's you can see the floor mount bracket that I made and installed (just a flat peice of metal bolted through the floor) so i could use the mounting bracket of the console. I cut the two side ears off the bracket so the remaining ears slide under my mounting bracket.
I also have something I think no one else has done to their console. The fan is wired up and runs off the rear controls of the console.
I did the seat mod to the drivers seat that I got from a 2001 Ranger from my local junkyard for $50.

Is there anything important under where you drilled for the mounting bracket? I ask because I still need to mount mine somehow so it won't wiggle so much. Also, what length/of screws did you use? The radio panel on my console is going to be replaced by a simple black piece of metal, possibly a status panel of my electrical stuff just for fun :)

There isn't anything in the way where my bracket is. i just used two small bolts, maybe 3/8" x 1 1/2" with selflocking nuts. then the mounting bracket slides under the metal strip and the console is secured in front by the dash.

All together now, hooked on phonics worked for me! Lol, just playin' :)Where did you get the metal parts to mount your floor console? I got a long strip of...flexible metal stuff that might work...but I wanna make sure I nail this sucker good when I get back home!
It may sound a bit constructive, but all I had for a piece of metal when I got the idea for my mounting method was a conbination square, so I use it for the metal strap. It is no longer then the explorer mounting bracket is wide, then just two small bolts and self locking nuts. hope this answers your ?.
