E-Brake Light From Hell

Ok, So lately my e-brake light has been on, regardless of the e-brake actually being on or not. The lights status changes ocassionally under either A)Heavy Acceleration and B) Heavy brakeing. Mostly Heavy Brakeing. Ive taken apart both rear drums and have found nothing wrong back there, and Ive taken a look at the sensor switch under the e-brake pedal, once again nothing out of the ordinary...Does anyone have any suggestions to how to fix this problem? Oh and yes, I know I could just pull the bulb, but Id rather fix it correctly

I don't know if this is true on Rangers, but on most other vehicles when that light comes on it means your brake fluid is low. Check that next, and let us know!

Yes, that is the other function of the brake light. It doesn't even need to be that low for it to come on.

^ what they said! My Brake light coming on was my first indication something was wrong back in this thread. I had no fluid in the resovoir when I opened the hood.
