change color on gear shifter

change color on gear shifter

i tryed to change the green color that lights up at night on the gear shifter. i took it apart and scraped the color off the back. i painted it with transparent white color. i hooked it back up it is showing up orange color. any reason and ideal of what i did wrong.

well the needle lights up orange and also the lights are not bright white

can i change the bulb to bright white? the needle is blue i painted it.

well I dont know much about it but the light for the gear selector comes from the gauges. It does not have a separate bulb. I'd say try changing the bulbs to LEDs

yea go LEDs, the lights just arent that white they are more of a yellow...

whitch led lights would fit the 96 ranger. also what light would be the one for the gear and needles?
