I could of sworn that I passed up this truck in my neighborhhod a couple of months ago. I've never seen a wider truck. I had to pull over to the side for it to pass by. I live in mission viejo california and was going to pick up my girlfriend from trabuco hills high school when I saw it.

I've seen the truck before and it is FAR from useless. I think its ugly as hell but its not useless

its a dune truck larger track width is better for jumping like Neil said, its ugly as sin but it serves a purpose...

seriously how long is that front end going to last if it is jumped. You will be rebuilding the front end every time you take it out.

I understand the reason for the wide stance but it just makes no LOGICAL sense.

 

the componet parts are probably built to withstand the shock from a jump.......why else would you want wheel travel? by what you said, then everytime someone takes out a true pre-runner, then they would have to rebuild the front end?

those A-arms look like they are boxed chromoly....i bet that truck is stronger than any other truck on this site.....that dude could prolly take a beating and keep on trucking...

i would say the weakest point on that truck is were the A arms mount to the frame.....

It just looks to me like it would break. I mean Griggs jumped his truck and not all that much he fracture his spindle. This truck above looks like it was built to withstand a massive jump and well if the spindles are inside the rims without much stress I guess it could last.

I was thinking the wheels had some wicked offset and maybe spacers. This would result in breakage.

 

yea if it had that much offset and backspacing, it would destroy things fast.....

 

While not visually appealing, that thing looks extremely stable. Is it street legal? It wouldn't be here, he'd need flares to cover those things.

 

i said useless cuz u know the guy will not use it. i live in chino hills and i have seen a truck like that before and the guy never took it offroad. and most of the people here lift their truck, usually a F350 FX4 Diesel, and put 20's on it and never take it out. my buddy jeremy has a lifted Chevy 2500 Duramax 4x4 that never sees dirt. so again useless and it looks stupid

 

i doubt it would be street legal because of ALL the tire sticks out of the fender.....

my truck never sees dirt or mud, but if i wanted it to it would be very usefull.......does that make mine useless?

have you ever considered some people build their vehicles to show? or that some people dont want to just waste money breaking stuff? or that some people are proud of their vehicles and dont want to destroy it?

i meant like parts wise. use the lift for clearance over crap. use the shocks for the tuff stuff. i just hate seeing all the offroad packages out ther going to waste. and then when they try to offroad they cant even put it in 4wd. i was at azuza one time and there was this excursion lifted to the sky and he was mudding it. so i said cool. then he wanted to climb something and he couldnt. i said is it in 4wd he said yes. then i said did u lock the hubs and he answered what r hubs. i just dont like show offs.
