2005 Engine Knock TSB???

Do any of you guys know if there is a TSB for engine knock on the 2005's? Mine started a little while ago and I want to get it taken care of before the warranty is gone. Thanks.

Are you referring to pinging going uphill? Haven't heard of an engine knocking TSB, but ford re flashed my ECU to take care of my pinging problem. If it is pinging, I can look to see what the TSB number was that I took into ford. Let me know.

Yeah the only applicable tsb is spark knock on accel which is a pcm reflash no tsb's on engine knocks.

Some 2004-2005 Rangers equipped with the 4.0L engine may exhibit a spark knock during acceleration between 1800-2400 RPM.

Go to dealer and get reflash.

Got the reflash and it runs great again. Is this something I can look forward to again at some point in the future? Thanks for the input!

I just bought a 2005 4.0 with 63,000 miles and seems to be doing the samething. But it does it it between 2000-3000 rpm and not as low as the TSB states. It has also been 98+ degrees and very humid for the last week since I have owned it, so I did try premium fuel but without any gain. Otherwise clean filter, new plugs, clean air flow sensor, and should note it doesnt do it when at an idle (my assumption of it not being a rod knock) but will do it when revved in neutral during the rpm range stated above. Just thought I would get another opinion before sending to the dealer. Any help is much appreciated!
