I have been debating this for awhile, but my truck is about an inch lower on the passenger side and I was wondering if I cranked the right side torsion bar to even it out, if it would mess up the alignment. I don't want to dish out $80 bucks to get it aligned and don't want to crank it and just leave it and waste my tires.

Trying to save money for furniture and don't need to waste it cause the leaning bugs me.

What are your thoughts?

replace the shocks first. our trucks are supposed to be lower on the drivers side so somethings up.

 

no, no.... I cranked the t-bars along time ago and I didn't get them level I guess. It's not shocks or anything wrong, it's my fault for not checking again after they settled.

 

It would drive me nuts . I say go for it and pay close attention to where it is before u start turing it in case u notice something different in the steering. Seems there are different thoughts on this as i have heard that its ok to turn em a little without a alignmentand have also heard u have to have it done.Mine are cranked all the way, then I backed the higher side down so it would be even.

 

shocks dont support the truck.. you could remove the shocks and it would sit the same...

and inch difference may wear out your tires.. but make it level and just watch your tire wear.. if it starts wearing un evenly then get the allignment, and it may be after you have your funature

plus, I don;t know if they're still doing it, but out here Firestone was doing lifetime alignments for the initial $75... everything after that was free

 

That is where I got mine the first time and it was the cheapest place I could find here and it was $80, they said lifetime alignment was $140. But maybe I will check again to see if they are doing that here

 

I know I'll be doing that when the Ranger needs an alignment!

tell me about it. Some places wanted like $160, $180. I was thinking damn. Most people in austin don't know any better and will pay these crazy prices.

It's like when I bought my shocks, I didn't feel like messing with them since I don't have a lot of tools here and called around to see some prices to install them. I was thinking $30 since it's not very much work and prices ranged from 129.99 to 259.99. Just to install shocks. So I said hell with that and just did it myself. I couldn't believe how much they were asking.

 

Well I went ahead and did it cause it keeps bugging me more everyday. Will check it again tomorrow and make sure it hasn't settled down any and then probably go ahead and see if I need to get it aligned. Raised it an inch to even it out.

I never got an alignment after my torsion crank and it drives fine and doesn't wear tires. I think when I cranked mine the passenger side was lower. That was like that since factory.
