Drum Brake help! 02,03,04, Level2s...

Idk how much different the 31 spline drums are from the 28 spline.

But I'm trying to put the Drums back together on my Explorer Axle that has 04 Level 2 Drums and backing plates on it.

I need some pictures or diagrams to get this back together, I have never done drum brakes before so I'm lost.

Anything anyone has would be great!

This is the driver side. Shorter lining to the front, be careful not to mix up the left and right adjusters. OE Ford adjusters are marked R or L.

Hopefully one of these helps. It's a regular 28 spline 8.8 but maybe it'll get you back on track.

Looking at the adjusters, compare the star wheel to the profile of a circular saw blade. The points on the wheel should point down on the outside where the actuator lever meets the wheel.
I generally lube the adjuster with marine type bearing grease as it resists road salt better than never sieze.
