Update: Post 14 is an update with pictures. Thanks for all the help.

I just had my bed sprayed with Line-X. I now want to mount my Hi-Lift to the side of the bed. I purchased the Loc-Rac mounting system. I don't know why but I can't figure out how the hook piece attaches to the hi-lift. I've searched around a bit and I was unable to find a picture that showed the small rear piece holding up the jack. I understand how the big piece mounts to the jack but the small rear piece with the small hook is confusing me. Can somebody post a picture for me becasue I feel pretty dumb for asking this. Thanks

here it is in two pictures, now that little piece is behind the jack and I can't see it.

 

The little piece hooks into the base of the High lift, it should fit one of the holes that is drilled into it.

Look how much travel the jack has. Enough to pick one end of the truck out of trouble (depending on length)

If anybody has a close up of how it mounts I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to see how it fits before I drill some holes in my bed tomorrow. Thanks

Ok I figured it out this morning. Now my problem is that since I have a camper shell I don't know where to mount it. I can't mount it on the top bed rail like it was intended for. I was going to mount it on the side of the bed but that won't work. The wheel well is in the way and above that it isn't flat. There are the two main supports but the lock part for the front/top of the jack won't fit flat against the truck bed. I could mount it to the floor fo the bed but I use my bed too much to do that. Any ideas??

its called the 4xrac. i have it mounted with 8 1/4" bolts to the bed. 4 bolts per stand. not hard to install, and can be done on either side of the bed.

BTW: i have the 60" all cast jack. with handel keeper.

UPDATE: It's finally installed and it's been tested. It held up to 115 dirt miles on New Years day plus two other small outings since then (yeah I hit the dirt quite often).

With the campershell and everything it turned out to be tricky. We had to remove the latch part of the loc rac system. We then drilled the support near the cab. On the second hole (for the base clip/mount) I realized that there is another support thing and I wasn't drilling through that. I was sad, but my mind started working and we used a cotter pin and hammered it in then bent out the end. Here is a picture of the rear/base mount. The cotter pin helps to the other bolt doesn't spin around and drop the jack. It's at an angle because the other mount is higher than the rear, it's at an angle. Red is the cotter pin and the purple is the bolt that was supplied.



Next is the lock part of the mount. We removed the hinge closing part. That leaves us with the bolt aprt of the latch. We drilled into the bed rail where it's supposed to mount. We used the two bolts supplied with it. It's a tight fit with the camper but it works great.



Here is the final product.







I can get close ups of the lock part of where the latch was if anybody wants. So they can see how it was modified. I think the mount is sideways too but hey it works and holds it tight.

 

Yes, it hooks in the base as you've been told. The first picture you posted at the top of the page is my truck a couple of years ago.

It works well, but that lock is of necessity quite tiny. This rack is a deterrent to casual theft -- but I think anyone with a hammer could get the jack pretty quickly if they wanted it.

That said however, it's a convenient way to mount your jack.

Yeah Griggs, I knew that was your truck. Yours has always cought my eye.

I also have two spare tires at all times. One in the bed the other under the truck.

That is a nice set-up plus you can add lights too. I have to have a camper shell though which makes it a hassel.
