3/4 lowering kit here!
Hey guys my 3/4d djm kit came today! im excited! going to start tomorrow. I do have a couple questions that i haven't found answers to. I was reading the djm "instructions" and it said that i need to drill a new, off set hole in my stock spring plate for the rear. is this necessary? my spring plate looks like an M if that changes anything. I'm also looking for safe point to put my stands of the frame when i'm working on the truck. could someone tell me a good location for the stands. thanks. ill post pics of my progress.
whats the little fork thing that came with the shocks? there are two sets of bushing that came with the front shocks. the instructions dont tell you where to use them. One set is bevelled and one set isn't.
old thread... but those forks are for different ways of mounting the shocks... for example i know old school mustangs use two bolts that go in the "fork" looking things and the tube part of the fort goes through the bushing in the shock
I dont know whats dumber, driving an S-10 or heating up springs to lower a vehicle.
honestly, new... i would never have bought that style of rim... but for $400 with tires.. i did haha. they look badass when moving, but okish with they aren't. but whatever, i'd like to get some 18" fr500's some day and go lower.
you said it man, heating up springs is dangerous, he could be driving that thing one day and have those springs snap on him when hes doing 60 mph
eww im sorry but thos rims are gross not a fan at all
go with a 18'' rim and a meatier tire it will look meaner
fr500's look nice i got me some bloack bullets had the 95 cobra Rs
both 17'' but i have a 275/55/17 in the back and 245/55/17 up front the stance is sick looking
and i only have the 2/3 dropp so it looks lower with fatt tires

yeah i would like to go with a smaller wheel and staggered tire size but those 20's beat stock wheels any day for now. the rear leafs just unbolt from the perches, just look at where the leafs mount and then unbolt those bolts and it'll just come out, shouldnt have to remove the bumper.
