Ford Recalls 225,000 Vehicles

I take it this will affect some of us ranger owners? I got mine fixed when I received the recall notice in the mail. According to the article it sounds like only a small portion of the people who had it fixed will have to re visit the dealership.

Read the article and post what you think or any other info!!!!!!!

Engineering by beancounters, works well don't you think?
Reminds me of our HMO's, practicing medicine by counting beans.
It seems some lessens never get learned.

Ford says the automaker plans to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration next week about the latest recall.

Ford dealt with cruise control switch problem by installing new wiring harnesses in the recalled vehicles.

Now, the automaker says some of those wiring harnesses appear to be defective.
For those like me that kept waiting for someone to do it b/c they didn't want to click the link

I'm literally rolling on the floor with laughter at this point. WHen I took mine in to get fixed, I thought "hmm, wonder if this part is going to be recalled as well" sure enough...

Courtesy Ford did a hack job on mine, but it functions and it didn't cost me a dime, so I guess thats all that matters.

whats sad is when the recalled parts go through 6 recalls of their own only to find out the original part wasn't the defective part after all... which I think will ultimately end up happening after all. I also have to laugh, my '93 Bronco has the same recall, yet the deactivation switch and harness arent even near the master cylinder or reservoir.

I don't need to get mine done...and i'm not worryed about it. All it is, is if u have fluid in the connector where the cruise plugs in. If there no fluid then theres no worrys.

Back in the early 90s Ford got rid of the large portition of it's talent in engineering. (highly paid & experienced guys) There are a few left.. but for the most part it's a company run by Marketting weenies and accountants. Engineering is done by people who are quite often from other counties (or in other countries) & don't have much interest in cars.

Is it really any supprise that the focus had 8 recalls? Any supprise in this matter with the CC recall?

Doesn't supprise me.

Rich

if memory serves me right, the problem with the cruise control switch is that it stays powered after you turn the truck off, the lil doohickey gets hot, shorts out, and if you parked it in the garage, will burn your house down. cool huh?

Well I guess it's good that my local dealership didn't have any parts left. I got mine done in October, but they just disconnected my cruise. They just fed me some BS about Ford hoping to have some new stock in by the 4th quarter......but it's fine with me. At least now when my POS Ford burns my house down, I'll be covered by insurance....my @ss is covered.

Guess now those new parts won't be coming any time soon.......LMAO @ Ford. What a bunch of penny pinching @ss clowns!!!! And then we wonder why Ford is going down hill.....LOL
