i know its possible for tbars to sag overtime but is there anyway to measure if theyve sagged so i dont spend 120bux on em the door sticker says theyre #1 tbars which is the stiffest but the previous owner carried lots of weight in the bed and drove it for 10-15k miles with worn out shocks if that has anything to do with it

Search for a post about measuring ride height here and it will tell you Ford's method for determining the height.

If they're sagged a bit you can adjust them if required. If they don't have enough range, you'll have to replace them.

Refering to the above: you measure from the ground to the bottom tip of the spindle (inset drawing) which is measurement (1) and from the ground to the center of the forward lower a-arm pivot which is measurement (3).

From this, subtract (1) from (3) to get measurement (2) which is "ride height" by the Ford spec.

Front new vehicles with less than 500 miles: 113 mm (4.52 in) +/- 11 mm (0.44 in)

Front with original parts after 500 miles: 101 mm (4.04 in) +/- 11 mm (0.44 in)

Front with replacement parts: 113 mm (4.52 in) +/- 3 mm (0.12 in)

Notice that the "original" parts are allowed more tolerance than replacement parts -- don't know what that is about.

Those specs are from the 2002 Ford Ranger workshop manual.


my tbar ajuster bolt is maxxed out and the measurement is exactly 4" so should i replace em or theyll be fine

Best thing i ever did was replace mine. they are alot less "bouncy" for lack of a better word. You should be ab;e to find a better price than that. i paid under $100 for mine if i remember right

 

i ve never looked into price i just read somewhere on here that they were 60 a piece
what is the best place to get them dealer? and what are the part # for #1 bars cuz i know ford doesnt go by that

 

just call the dealer and tell them your make model etc. and that you have class 1 bars. thats what i did
