I am going to be towing a u-haul car carrier a couple of times this summer. What size drop hitch do I need? I am thinking a 4" should do the trick, but (for those of you with a truck at a similar height) what do ya'll use?

I have a 5" drop down but I am lifted 3" plus another 2 inchs with the tires. Mine was fine with that so I think you will be good with a 4"

P.S.- Make sure to get a lock for it!

 

a 2" drop hitch will work fine........i ran one when i towed a u-Haul trailer with my truck....it set pretty level...

 

I agree with Lifted 2" drop is more than enough Mine is lifted and my boat trailer on 15" rims sits perfect with the two inch

 

I got 5 1/4 drop but after I cut the hitch to fit better after my BL and put on a superlift..im thinkin I need a 8in drop. I put a trailer on with 5 1/4 drop and the front of the trailer was way to high.

 

my truck is the same height as yours, mike. a 2'' drop is perfect.

 

I thought you were stock height.
