x2!
Let's just say I have a used superlift w/ shot shocks. And I want something different shock wise.
What are 4" lifted 98+ ranger shock options??
I hear procomp and superlift are our only options??
Anybody got part numbers??

Just a comment on Superlift shocks: I put SuperLift/Warn Black Diamond AT shocks on my SAS and I'm pretty happy with them. I bought them off eBay as "scratch and dents" directly from Superlift. They were mainly an economic decision but I was blessed to find they were pretty good. Don't know how long they last -- haven't had them long enough.
^^lol.
Yea....i mean i want those yellow/blue bilsteins. Rears are probably easy to find, it just the front that'll be hard.
Can't I just pound out that mounting bracket on the LCA, and pound it into the new shock that doesn't have it??

I bought my lift used and the shocks were shot. Bought new Sl shocks and hated them on the road. Too slow in rebound. Used them for a short time then made mounts for my bilsteins I had from before the lift. I feel they are a huge improvement. I was not a fan of the bilsteins until I replaced them with the superlift shocks and the ride became terrible.
Are you still in VB?

so the rears are eye to eye the fronts are stud to eye? my shocks that are on there now (fronts) look like they have a 3 inch bar comming off the LCA then the shock tube starts but its not like the shock tube starts at the lower mount.. if i get bilstins will they still fit if i get the write part number for the truck, i still have a feeling even if i get the "right ones" they arent gona mount up right, i wish the fronts were eye to eye just like the rears... dose anyone have a picture of the bilstien front shock for a 98+?. im trying to go off memory and i want to know what they are suposed to look like.
Bilstein front shock for 98+ torsion bar trucks.....

Rears are eye to eye. Fronts are stud to eye w/ bracket in eye. I'm actually thinking of doing the jeep shock conversion for the front upper mounts. It converts the stud to an eye.

The Superlift shocks DEF. arent as bad as I thought they would be but it is def. true that they have some slow rebound...and as far as the sway bar end links I would like to get some new ones also...I think you can get them from superlift Steve
shane thanx so much i been searching the forums and the internet as well as like 4 other forums for 2 weeks for that picture thanx you so much!!!!.. i thought i had some weird shock in the front, thats what they are suposed to look like.. sweet thanx again man. and if you convert it from stud to eye to its eye to eye can we use the same shocks in the front as in the back? or do we need that weird looking "post" on the bottom of the shock tube? basicly im asking can we fit a rear shock in the front with it converted from eye to eye
Can somebody post how the RCD coil-over mounts? I understand there's some conversion deal there....like what 12r said.
So that makes it an eye at the bottom? Are stud to eye shocks easy to find? Like a bilstein 5100?

BUMP!
Was thumbing through the Bilstein website and came across this...
5100 bilstein's for 98-08 2wd Edge w/ 3" front lift. Part # F4-BE5-2794-HO
Any idea if these would work for the front of a 4" Superlifted 4x4? It's no biggie to me if I need to make a 1" spacer at the shock bucket.

OR...another idea....
5125's part # BE5-6251-H5.....they have 6.63" travel, extended 18.5", compressed 12.0".
http://www.bilstein.com/offroad_5125.php
Slightly shorter to compensate for.....
And press in the lower mount unit, and use one of these Jeep upper shock conversion things(from Rusty's)(and because those shocks are eye to eye.)...

http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ry_Code=SHOCKS
And yet another option i'm pondering on...
The pic I posted above.....is 98+ 4x4 vs. 97 and older 2wd I beam......notice it's stud/eye.....could a 4" lifted 2wd 97 and older shock work? Of course press in those bracking thingys to the LCA.
I really need toget things crackin', cuz these effed up used Superlift shocks blow! lol.
