Whats the highest mileage 3.0L out there?
Whats the highest mileage 3.0L out there?
I just picked up a 99 XLT and it has the 3.0L and as far as I'm told it is the original mill.
The truck was used a construction truck before I got it so its a little beat, but it has 213k on it and runs like a top. Doesn't burn oil, though it may use some. Haven't had it long enough to know to be honest.
When do these normally check out. Where might I find a blown 3.0L that I can get prepped for when mine fails. I'm an engine builder by trade so this would be an easy task for me. I just want to make sure I'm ready.

The FLex Fuel 3.0 from my old 99xlt made its way into a 2001xlt and has somewhere around 200K on it. Oil has been changed every 3k miles and it hasn't lost any compression at all since it was checked this past spring. Its not a ' powerful racing engine ' but seems to be quite reliable.
Had 280K on my 2000 when the idiot ran a red light and destroyed it. Never had the engine open and aside from the syncronizer never had any problems with it. After the crash the engine was still running.
Lowest mileage 2001 ive seen
I ve only got 66 600 kms on my 01 edge, that converts to roughly 40 000 miles. Thats why I jumped on this truck when i saw it, got a real good price on it used and with that little on the odometer it should last me a long time.
