Whats the highest mileage 3.0L out there?

I just picked up a 99 XLT and it has the 3.0L and as far as I'm told it is the original mill.

The truck was used a construction truck before I got it so its a little beat, but it has 213k on it and runs like a top. Doesn't burn oil, though it may use some. Haven't had it long enough to know to be honest.

When do these normally check out. Where might I find a blown 3.0L that I can get prepped for when mine fails. I'm an engine builder by trade so this would be an easy task for me. I just want to make sure I'm ready.

249K on a guy on our executive team at work. He has a 97 Ranger. It's had Amsoil in it for a long long time and it runs great.

170,000 miles right now. Its getting old and tired. I'm sure if i didn't rev the **** out of it and didn't treat it badly it wouldn't feel that way but its to much fun and it loves to do it to much.

Had 280K on my 2000 when the idiot ran a red light and destroyed it. Never had the engine open and aside from the syncronizer never had any problems with it. After the crash the engine was still running.

Wow, so at 213k I'm in good company. I want to see how much I'd have to invest to get my hands on a take-out engine and start playing with it.

Should be a fun little project for me.

Lowest mileage 2001 ive seen

I ve only got 66 600 kms on my 01 edge, that converts to roughly 40 000 miles. Thats why I jumped on this truck when i saw it, got a real good price on it used and with that little on the odometer it should last me a long time.

My 2000 was a construction truck too, but it only has 68,800 miles on it now. Im happy with that low number.
