That's true, some V8's get better gas milage in the city because it takes less rpm and throttle to accelerate because of the torque.

Yea, I eventually want to swap to 4.0 too...I'd be curious as to parts.

I think it would just be, 4.0, wiring harness PCM, transmission...can't get too much more complicated I'm guessing?

If someone is swapping in a 5.0, I'd gladly buy a 4.0, but I'd want a manual 4x4 though :)

Thats fine, then the engine and trans is yours - just gotta find a T-case!

I think he wants a manual transmission too..

You would be better off buying a complete wrecked Ranger with a 4.0 in it to do the swap from. That will give you EVERY part you need.

Your friend drives too hard. The SOHC and the OHV both get about the same fuel milage. The SOHC actually has a higher EPA fuel milage rating than the OHV ever thought about having.

Yea, I'm thinking of buying a wrecked ranger...I am just weary of spending too much $ and not being able to get rid of the truck :) I don't even care if it has a title...I just need the engine and trans!
