better check the dates on all new tires you buy for your trucks. i just saw a video of some of these tires could be over 6yrs old. when buying a new tire or tires check the date code on them. it might say 3402 or something. last 2 digits will be the yr. this would be 2002. being we have 4x4s is even better to check. they found tires that were over 10 yrs old. not safe. all my vintage schwinn muscle bikes original tires have dry rot and cracking. i know they are over 35 yrs old but you can see what happens to rubber after some time. be safe.

thats the last 4 digits of the DOT numbers. should be something like xxxx xxxx 1608. That would be the 16th week of 2008. Tires should be fine up untill 10 years as long as they arnt exposed to UV light. 4x4 has absolutly nothing to do with this.

Dont worry about it unless you see visable signs of dry rot or major cracking.

 

im talking about tires that are in warehouses or tires stores they have been sitting for long periods. i wouldnt put a 10 yr old tire on my truck thats for sure..
