What kind of noises? Ticks and taps? Clacks? Bangs? Pings?

More info you give, the better we can help you out.

As far as parts, junk yards have all kinds of stuff, such as the shifter and engine parts, depending on what you're looking for.

its hard to say honestly, i mean the sounds its making is hard to determine cause there are alot of factors like a slight knock under acceleration but take into consideration its sat for two years with the same gas so who knows, ill see if i can make it feel any better with some new oil after some seafoam and whatever else i can find.......worse comes to worse i find a 5.0 which wold just suck.......and im really loooking more towards aftermarket stuff cause it has all the original stuff minus the rims and its getting worn out so time to upgrade to better stuff, although im going to snag a d35/8.8 from some unlucky junkyard creature

I say bust out a 5.0. Cheap, fast as hell, somewhat unique, easy. What could go wrong lol

My guess, and purely only a guess.

It's kinda tired, and like you said, had been sitting for a while. If it's only making the noise under acceleration, it's probably more like the famous engine ping. I did everything in the book, but went after replacing the MAF, the ping went away.

If it's making a knocking type of noise while idling, I'd say it's a sticky lifter. I used Restore on my truck, and the lifter "tick""tap""knock", whatever you want to call it, went away.
