Well i got some money saved up and with 5000 of it gone to my sound system a don't have much left but i was lookin to get more power some how and was thinking about gettin a k an n cold air intake or a super chip thing which way would i get more horse power ??

Tuner is most bang for your buck. The K&N's are a waste of money in my opinion.

 

superchip is the way to go I had one on my '04 4.0.

When you have the chip is it better to run high grade or 87? I was thinking of buying the superchip or cal.

yup, another vote for an Xcal here. I have the KN intake. It did nothing in terms of power. it looks and sounds cool, thats about it.

5k on a sound system WTF.... um wow... wtf...

 

xcal FTMFW! you can do a lot with it... with the software they give you you can do live datalogging, it allows you to pin point some problem areas such as o2 sensors. I only got my K&N through a little mishap but its all good... it makes a cool little whistle when I open up the throttle... with 5 grand I wouldve bought a turbo or supercharged that mother... plus a turbo/ supercharger is a lot harder to walk away with than a $5000 stereo system...

 

^ x2 dude seriously. i could MAYBE see that in like a fullsize suv where you can actually get GOOD sound but wow. like no matter how much you spend on car audio for a ranger- its onlygunna be so good simply because ITS IN A RANGER. youre gunna have to be in something alot bigger to even start to hear all that money.

I am gettin 2 w7s and i will have two amps all i know is it is a HUGE rockford fosgate

 

there is sub out that are good as JL for less money i got 2 15 with 4000 watts amp for less than 1K

 

I really don't think any thing beats a jl sub

 

On sound quality no but if you go over 1000 watts it voids the warranty that sub i got are for quality and a friend had a 13 W7 with there 1000watt amp it does sound good on my opin i think my sub and the w7 very close. how much are you paying for sub?

i have spent 1300 on my sound system and still need to spend another 300 - 400 but i just cant justify it.. 5000... its beyond imagination. you could supercharge and lift your ranger for that.

2000 for zacks charger and 2000 or whatever for RCD kit.
