A Couple AAL Questions

I have heard a couple people around here are running a long and a short AAL or both

1. is this a good idea to run both?

2. what is different about a short and a long?

3. what one would be better for towing?

4. will having both give me more lift?

I know if i run both i have to make the C clip things so they dont twist out.

W.e else anyone wants to tell me about them would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Cam

I think the longer one is stiffer than the shorter one, thus giving more lift and I would assume be better for towing. Both would probably give you more lift than one but the ride without a load in the back would be pretty stiff. Why not just run one AAL and get a chevy drop shackle?

1. Eh.. I would rather run 1 AAL and then the chevy shackles myself. 1 AAL and the ride is bad enough. At first it didnt bother me, but its starting to irritate me more and more. The truck is close to either going back to stock and getting sold/traded, or going bye-bye to somebody as is, I like the ride height but I hate the ride quality.
2. Length is the difference (Couldn't resist being a smartass)
3. No idea.
4. Yes

I just installed the short AAL and the drop bracket. It gave me plenty of lift and the rear end feels great. not too stiff and not all mushy either. I should be able to get pictures up tomorrow if you would like

I run a ProComp short AAL and a Belltech 6400 (2" chevy drop) shackle. Feels great! Ride is nice and firm, but not too firm...yet not mushy either like Ory just said. If you do TWO aal's, it would confuse the leaf i'd think....plus you'd probably run out of U-bolt threads. Both stacked up would add lift, yes.

if you go long, you may need to relocate those C-bands. You need new leafs anyway. And dont forget new center bolts.
