Tailgate weight capacity

Anyone know what the weight limit for the tailgate is? I would try and find it in my owner's booklet, but my brother is using my truck now. Buying a small Snapper rear engine mower (probably today) and I needed to know if I could ramp it into my bed or if I'll need to use a trailer. Thanks.

This is going to sound really stupid but ive loaded a mower into the back of my truck with only one tailgate strap. I really regret it now that i think back on it. This was a riding mower too.

Thanks for the fast replies. Now I can sell my 1 year old trailer to my neighbor for almost enough to pay for the mower.

Head out to Advance they have them in the help section. Shouldn't be more than $15-$20 for a strap. When I bought my truck one strap was broken.

Mower weighs only 300, and I'm less than 150 so I shouldn't have any problems.

300lbs is pretty high. I have snapper exactly like that but it was built back in the 80's and I can lift it into my bed. Pick up the front end and set it on the tailgate, then pick up the rear end and push it in.
