4.0 OHV valve seals

Anybody replced thiers? I need to do them on the red truck. I just wondered if it was a pita?

Rocker, valve locks, retainers and springs have to come off. You will need a valve spring compressor.

been their done that their not too bad just taking all the juck off to get to the head was a pain took me abour 5 hours to do the head gaskets repair and done the valve seets while i was in their.

I will be doing them soon. I am planning on replacing the seals without removing the heads.

ya ya can do that just get ya a hose and pressure wise the chamber and have at it

or drop the piston, stuff some rope in there, and rotate the engine around to smash the rope in there and hold the valve up.

that way you dont have to worry about the air leaking out... just make sure you leave extra rope sticking out
