Well my shocks should be here tomorrow afternoon. I hope to get the fronts in before work tomorrow night and then do the rears and a T-bar crank on Thursday and get a much needed alignment on Friday.

Any tips for installing them? Its just unbolt the old and put the new ones in right?

 

Are you getting nitrogen gas charged ones? If so then leave the strap on it until you have the shock in place. Why? They can be a pain to compress them by hand.

x2. do the bottom first then let it release itself up to the top on its own. i took the strap off before hand on my and damn was it hard to get those bastards compressed

 

Naw I got hydrolic filled ones. Procomp ES3000's to be exact. The guy at the local 4x4 shop talked me out of a gas filled shock.

 

For the rears should I take the tires off or leave them on?

 

when doing the rears to get it off the top stud you kinda have to move the shock in a circular motion to get it off. also leave the strap lol

leave the tires on no need to jack the rear up at all

 

Yeah. No need to take anything extra off. I bolted on my shocks while the truck was sitting in my driveway.
