Cargo Net - Flareside

I have been looking at cargo nets for my 2002 Edge Flareside. Does anyone use one and which one do you use? I have been leaning towards the Spidy ones.

i don't think anyone on R-f has a cargo net. i had one back in 1988 though. i think they stopped being popular when it was proven that gas mileage actually drops if you remove your tailgate. (people thought if you remove it, your mileage increased)
However, if you'd like a cargo net, check truck accessories websites, maybe google.

If memory serves me right, the cargo net was the only thing that improved gas mileage on the Mythbusters show.

I don't know of anybody with a cargo net on here, sorry I can't be of help.

Mythbusters did some testing to see if removing a tailgate, or dropping it down improved gas mileage. I think it either stayed the same or made things worse. The only thing that had positive improvement over mpg was a cargo net -if I remember correctly.

I am talking about a cargo net -- not a tailgate net. Have to move my step daughter to Vermont next month and a relative used a cargo net when we moved in this house three years ago and I liked the way it worked. He had a F250 and I was wondering about one for the smaller truck with the flareside.

that's what I thought. I think they work pretty good. the one i posted a pic of is 78x60...you may shop around and find a smaller one, i don't know...

they have 30x60, 15x15s, all sorts of sizes...IDK bed dimensions off the top of my head for steppies, but I know they are somewhere around 40 inches IIRC

The mesh tailgate thing did actually increase the mileage. I was quite surprised.
