ok so my dad just had exhaust done on his 4.0 mustang and they cut at the y pipe and then ran two si/so flowmaster original...so my question is do our trucks need both pipes to run into the single cat or could i chop it and put that cat on just one pipe and then run si/so's? sorry if its confusing, let me know and i'll try and get pics if you need

 

I`m confused. JK. The way I did my exhaust the first time was to remove the big two into one (last) cat. Run a 2.25" to 3" Y-pipe to a flow si/do. Not sure if you`ll be able to run a single pipe into the big 2-in-1 cat. The inlet side is oval shaped to accept the two pipes. But I guess anythings possible...

 

would it mess anything up performance wise and would i b better off buying a new cat for that section if i decided to go that route?

 

what if i went to the JY and got two of the cats that are before the last one and eliminated the big one?

 

How many cats do you have? My truck only had three... one on each downpipe and the big 2-into-1. I just removed the big one since there was no sensor after it. No cels and a little deeper, louder sound.

 

Are you trying to run a true dual setup? If so, sorry to tell you, but your gas tank will prevent that.

 

well would it sound better if i got rid of the big 2 into 1 cat and then got a di/do flo 40?

lol im so lost but I think I see what you are getting at. just take out all the cats and build a custom back from the exhaust manifolds. You dont need cats (unless the legalityl deal) I have no cats and have no CEL. You can run true dual but the wont be even close to equal length. I dont know but I think I may have answerd your question maybe
