Guys Its Me Again...Front Clip Conversion

Sorry Guys,

Its me again.

I am getting ready to do the conversion on my truck. And I want yall to know that I couldn't find ANYTHING locally in the pick and pay yards. It seems like either the 04+ trucks are either indestructible, or they just seem to completely avoid being sent to the yards...lol.

With that said, Ive not been able to find any used parts. So Im taking the more expensive route.

Im going to buy all new parts.

Ive got a good website(Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto) and Ive got all parts(excluding paint) priced at 219.30, except for the corner lights, in which I plan on ordering off of ebay.

So the reason I am posting again is this:
Before I go and fork over 300$, i just want to check and make sure that there will be no hidden costs? Will it be a straight bolt on? Will I need any other parts?

Here Is What Ive Got Ordered:

2004 Ford Ranger Header Panel
2004 Ford Ranger Headlight Assembly
2004 Ford Ranger Hood
2004 Ford Ranger Grill(argent bar;Black)
2004 Ford Ranger Hood Latch Assembly.
Corner lights off of ebay

Im sorry Ive posted so much on this topic, its just like this.
I want to be sure that I have all the parts I need.

Will I need anything else?
Like headlight retaining clips?
Will I be able to use parts off of the 98(Bolts, clips, etc.)

I have been saving 75% of my income for the last 3 years. Ive worked my butt off...lol...Im getting ready to take on a 72 hr/wkly job, and will be saving 75% of that income.
Im trying to raise capital for my business...and im just plain tight.
I don't want to tie up a god awful amount in this truck.
I will soon be replacing the heater core/blend door, and starter.

You will need the headlight retaining clips and a drivers side hood hinge. Kind of optional but the black plastic gap gaurds or whatever they are called under the headlight.

If you're so tight and strapped, don't do the swap. Paint's gonna kill ya in the end if you don't have any hookups on paintwork.

As noted above, you'll need the headlight retainers(sliders I call 'em) and the mixed assortment of J-nuts and screws(should only be like $10 in hardware). Everything else is straight up bolt on. John mentioned something about hood hinge? but I havn't a clue if that's needed or not.

And no Downey, he doesn't. 98+ are all the same core support. It's the header panel that are different. Rad support is needed on '93-97's.

Aight...didn't know your circumstance. I know from experience to not do something when I know I can't afford to. lol.

You can order them up from Ford or hit up junkyards that have 01+ rangers. There's 2 different clips per side, you need 2 of each style to mount the lamps to the header panel. Head over to ford and take a peek at their diagrams.

Thanks alot man. I really appreciate it.

Im a commerical fly tyer, getting ready to open up a shop, franchise my products, and do a little guiding to pay for it all(BIG LOL). Was getting ready to take a full scholarship out in Casper Wyoming, but passed it up to save on expenses, so that i could open my business faster. Hey PM me your addy and ill try to get you some samples in the mail sometime.

My big plan is 25000K more for the next two years. Hoping to get my credit built good enough by then, that way i can invest all my capital in invetory instead of real estate.

So pretty much: The more money i save now, the more ill make later!

The whole reason for the swap is i really wanted a 2004+ model, but Im such a tight wad, that I thought 2000$ was better than 4500$, for a truck that I may end up not being happy with. this is a great lil truck. very sound.

But thanks alot guys.

God Bless Yuns, and Ill post pics up as soon as Im done.

P.s.

Im going to take pics during the process that way I can create a HOW TO, in the HOW TO SECTION!
