Did Ford ever make a Ranger FX4 LII or 02 FX4 with the stepside bed? If so what years?

 

Nope. Only the '03+ 'normal' Fx4 Off Roads came with the optional stepside.

 

That is what I thought. There a 02 stepside for sale on TRS and he is insisting it is a FX4. It must be a rare option!

 

He could have done a bed swap because those are cake.

 

He would have to have swapped fenders too. A lot of people say their truck is an FX4 because they are worth more. You can tell whether or not its an FX4 by the interior. If its grey/tan, its just a XLT with FX4 stickers. If an 2002 FX4, and 03+ Level II the interior is black.

 

How about you ask him for interior pictures then? I don't see why you're so concerned about it.

I see this '02 xlt 4x4 Ranger on eBay that's silver, stepside, has fx4 decals on it, and he calls it a Fx4 Level II with all the LII goodies. I called him out on it, and boy oh boy was that guy rood. It's funny seeing fx4 stickers(ebay stickers BTW) on the bedsides and a 4x4 sticker on the tailgate....ford would never do that uglyness on anything. lol.

On a sidenote: I think I could sell mine for the LII going rate...as now, it is completely LII status minus the all black interior plastics.

I think the guy just has the wrong year listed....it's gotta be an '03 Fx4 Off Road. Or it's an '02 with Fx4 stickers on the bedsides. That's it. It's NOT anything LII...and nothing close.

 

Well I'd go with when they repainted the side they added stickers ! if you look close you will notice the color difference from the door to the extended cab door, shadow ? (nope)
Besides it has all the wrong ext options. I'm not a know it all but those few things stand out pretty good!

 

What 'wrong' options are you talking about?

thats an option on 03 fx4 off roads....not 02 fx4 or 03 fx4 LII.

everything about the truck in question screams '03 Fx4 Off Road.

 

In addition to the bed, you missed fender flares, Alcoas, and stainless tow hooks.

And "the bed" could hardly be described as "all the wrong options".

As Shane stated before...Its just a normal FX4, it is not a level II...end of discussion. Some of you are mistaken, Ford offered a FX4 package and a FX4 level II package, so it may be a FX4, but it is not an FX4 Level II.

And "scooter" is right, looks like half of the side on that truck has been re-painted.

 

Wanna bet? Guess you missed the thread I posted a year ago.. it was a new truck on Autotrader.... it was an FX4 Lvl 2 with flares on one side, and like a sport on the other side..

Doubt I have pictures since I'm sure its a dead link now, but I'll check.

 

I remember that, it had the grey FX4 flares on one side and the painted flares on the other side...or was that someone else that posted that, I thought it was a new truck at a Ford dealership.

 

It was me unless there was another. It was new at a Ford dealership, but I found it on Autotrader..

 

I remember a '06 DSG fx4.....without flares and with a chrome grille.

 

well i have been wrong before & probably will be again. but I'm telling ya the right side was repainted the colors are way off.

 

that truck looks exactly like my 04 FX4 stock. He has an aftermarket billet grille which means he is smart enough to buy lvl 2 stickers on ebay if so wanted.
