So the girlfriend got a camera, and I went and ****ed around with it.

Anyway, here is the first problem. I have to reuse these year-old bearings until I can get new ones. What is the best way to get them cleaned out so I can get the new grease in there? I'll get new ones in a couple weeks but right now I have to make do.






SECONDLY...the only reason I decided to have this fun to begin with was because I noticed THIS!!!:





The end of the outer tie-rod is ****ed. Its like all the rubber has exploded upwards whereas the other side looks like this:





So anyway, to summarize.

1 - The best way to make year-old bearings as new again as they can be for a fresh greasing and repacking. At least I bought new seals.

2 - WTF is making the tie-rod end on the passenger side do that when they were both installed new at the same time (inner and outer) and the driver's side is fine? FTR the control-arm on the passenger side is new as well.

HELP!

 

For the bearings...put a big dob of wheel bearing grease in your hand and run the bearings through it. It will push new grease in it and hopefully force the old grease out. As for the tie-rod, it's hard to tell what exactly happened in the picture. What brand are they and how many miles on them?

for the bearings i would buy a few cans of berrymans b12 and hose them down you can put the little straw on the can to bet inside a bit make sure you have some eye protection on dont want the stuff in your eyes they dont have to be perfect just get out what you can and if theres nothing wrong with the bearings i would just clean, repack, reinstall and forget about them

is that ball joint greaseable? i might have been over greased they dont need much 2-3 pumps

 

Cheap ****, like part-source or whatever. About 30,000 KM.

 

lol. That's only about 18k miles. Not much at all. I'd step up and get mid to higher quality bearings when you can.
