Ok Illinois window tint law will be passed very soon so im going to get my fronts done i can have either as dark as i want in the back and nothing up front or i can do

35% all around

also does anyone know the what the stock tint percent is?

Stock percent is 18-20. I'm happy with my 35 on the front.

 

I have 15 all around, it sucks and I wish I got 5

Most people just get around 20% to match the back windows, if they are factory tinted. Thats what I did.

 

Any more info on this law? I would like to know if you don't mind telling me.

 

i just got 35% done on the front windows and its good.

um honestly do what ever you want. mine is completely illegal. haven't had any issues and i drive threw ohio, ky, tn all the time.

plus its just a fix it ticket atleast here it is..

I think I'm going 20 in the back and the legal 35 percent...

 

20% over stock tinted rear. 20% doors. honestly it looks more like 15% wondered if he went darker..

 

i would like to go illegal but the state police crack down on window tint like no other.... even though now they will have to purchase readers to make sure im at 35% and the state police is so broke they have been on a hiring freeze for like 1 1/2 years lol so i might just take it down to like stock.

I'm not a fan of sun strips, I have sunglasses in my truck all the time anyway.

 

I really like the 20% I put on. 35% is the law in Ohio. I bought 35 but ended up going with the 20. I couldn't go 35 it was too light. I wanted black windows not a gray look..
I usually crack my windows to let more light in when I see a cop. I will completely roll both down if I ever got pulled over.. I think its worth it.

Oh ok. Man I thought the orange wheels on the ranger looked gay at first but in that pic you posted they look pretty badass on there.

Thats weird, I couldn't drive something without one. I love mine.

 

I have 20% up front to match my back glass. I would get 20% or darker even if it is illegal.

Chances are VERY slim that you will ever have any problems with it.

I hate sunglasses, that is the reason for the window tint and the strip on the windshield.

 

My rear window is 5%...my sides should be 5% too...Ive only retinted the back window since Ive gotten it...All I know is cops dont ever comment on it and I cant see out of them at night...Have to roll my window down a little to make left turns.

The Jetta with 30% front, 10% rear.


Ranger with 13% front, stock rear. (drivers window is down)


Sport Trac with 15% front, 5% rear over stock tint.


F150 with 15% front, 15% over rear stock tint, 5% on the side of the cap windows, and 5% windshield strip. (kind of a mutt with window tint on this one but the end result is the rear windows and canopy windows matching)


And the Legacy GT with 28% front, 17% rear.



If you are really concerned about being legal, I would go with 35% on the front, but darker in the back. Some people hate different shades, but I find that having the back really dark makes the front seem lighter.
