One of the only reasons I would move to Canada for. Now only if they made it in 03 with silver paint and flares, silver gauges with black interior, twin sticks and 4.0L SOHC, power doors and windows SAS'd on 37 grapplers from the factory. lol

03 = silver gauges ONLY year. Original year of the Lvl 2 with twin sticks too.

Good reasoning for sure!! didn't know they had silver gauges in 03!
was 02 or 03 the first year for the FX4?

03 was the only year the silver gauges were put in XLT's and FX4's (I believe).

02 was the original year of the twin sticks in fx4's.

02 FX4 Offroad is the same as 03 FX4 lvl II.

02 4X4 offroad is the same as 03 FX4 Off Road

I didn't know all those FX4 facts! good to know, thanks!
The only thing i wish mine came with are sticks! And power locks! but the locks are easier to do something about.

Yup! Twin sticks isn't hard to do! Manual swap it and manual case it yourself! Or just throw a manual case on your automatic. As long as you have the 4.0L you'll be good to go! Shane taught me a lot about FX4 stuff so I know it now!

Power locks are easy. I threw a keyless entry with remote start kit on my truck for $260 (that's with the price of a second key cut and programed to my PATS system). I actually had to replace a actuator this past weekend, did it myself again in only 30 mins and $14.99 for a new actuator. lol

Were there plus wired to your doors? i was going to pull my door panels off this week actually to see if it's wired for them. I have remote start already, and has the lock and unlock button, and it flashes and beeps, but obviously does nothing more. If the doors are already wired for them i would just have to mount the actuators and plug them in, but i probably wont be that lucky.

Seems odd that you would have the facotry FOB without power door locks but with remote start. Or is the kit aftermarket?

Chances are it's aftermarket and not factory wired for power door locks. Someone ran a the wires from the central box under the dash to the actuators and bolted them onto the door latch linkage like I did with mine. I can't lock or unlock inside the truck if it's running or my key is on in the ignition, only from the outside. That's the only difference to having factory power door locks.

It is an aftermarket kit. Not sure how it was wired though, it was on the truck when i bought it.. I figured/hoped it would be wired already for the dealers to make it an option, i found it weird that that late model of a XLT FX4 would have manual window and locks. I like the manual windows but my friends are dumb and cant lock the doors on their own and it gets annoying.

Eh get the keyless kit fixed. Shane gets mad when I don't lock his passenger side door. I'm just used to not having to lock them that I forget! KEYLESS ENTRY FTW! lol

Thanks man! I have a soft spot for regular cabs because of my 98 that I have. I love your regular cab, and if I were to get another Ranger, I'd want one like yours... that thing is awesome!

Thanks Man! That's why I have been putting off getting a new valance because i wasn't sure what my plans for the truck were. But considering it spends most of its time on the street going to work, or snowboarding, or biking i dont know if i can really justify big mud tires for the sake of a few times a year. They look badass tho so im still up in the air between some open country mt's or dura grapplers (mud grapplers are $$$), or possibly some bfg mt or at's? havnt made up my mind

Radial MT's get great mileage... My hankooks had over 45% tread on them when I sold them with 23k miles on them. BFG, Toyo's and Mickey Thompsons usually have the best life.

The truck looks good but why do you have reg tow hooks and not the fx4 style hooks on the front end, is that something different in Canada too?

The truck is equivilent to a XLT 4x4 OFF ROAD...NOT a level 2. It's one step up from XLT, one step down from Level 2.

These style tow hooks are standard for a fx4 offroad though arent they?

They are nice, I am going to call the stealership and see how much they want for a set. Level 2's have a rear tow hook as well dont they?
