2001 Teaser Pics Inside.

Okay guys, I have been working a little on my son Thai Ranger, I finished the Line X last night at the shop, of course I did it myself, Most of you already know that I painted the ranger before, But non of you but (Stu and the guys at the Nor Cal Meet back in October knew I had some paint separation issues, "GUESS WHAT" I repainted the ranger as my son said do,, So for now teasers, but you aint seen nothing yet. Some of you like John (aka wvcat) know that my son passed away last month and I'm building this in his memories as he always wanted his ranger to be as best as he could make it. BODYLIFT/SPL coming in the next 24 hours. and a 5.0 will be dropped inside; (it's finally done) hope you folks like it and if any of you are ever in the Sacramento area, let me know I will Line x your rangers free, I have that ability to do so. Thanks

p.s I took pics and put on bumper at my sons old place now my daughters, this helped me feel his present:)

The truck is looking great! Sorry to hear about your son as well. I know he'd love it! After seeing these pictures, I've decided for sure that I'm going to get my bumper, rockers, and flares lined too. Too bad I don't live closer to you!

Your line-x job looks amazing.

2001fordranger 12-26-2010 11:29 PM

Thank you guys very much, i have so much interior/exterior/ under and over to do, I actually have everything in the garage and will be doing it soon, I dont usually be on the forum as much as I'm on th either, but I wanted to share with you wonderful folks.

P.s And remember guys this was a basic 2001 xlt; just plain basic ranger, I modded it and prefaced it to look like a newer ranger, I HOPE that he looking down and like the work that I am continuing. again thanks for the warm comments. The 1st paint job is in my avatar and i should have some pics in my album that shows it's original condition.

Truck looks great man... I'm sure your son is lovin it right now, and happy you're building the truck out for him as he wanted... I highly respect what you're doing, as I would do the same if I were in your shoes.

looks good aside the front of the truck. I don't like the look of the valence but the lower half of the truck looks great all around with the linex

ES894x4 01-13-2011 01:56 AM

dang sorry to hear, this truck was one of my favorites when everything was color matched 06+ mirrors, expo interior upgrades, even looked clean with out the emblems. sounds like its on its way to proper beastyness though.

01DangerRanger 01-13-2011 05:34 PM

really sorry to hear about your son and his recent passing. i hope the best for the family. this is deffinetaly going to be a great ranger in look and memory! god bless you

2001fordranger 01-13-2011 09:57 PM

Thanks! 01DANGERRANGER, these pics are already old, as the 5 inch suspension lift has been put on and the 3 inch bodylift soon to be complete, waiting on the 35 inch offroad tires and wheels, just added 5k low/high hid's and 3k fogs with brand new oem ford valance/fogs. also added offroad Piaa yellow ion lights, much ,ore than the 5.0 drop in should be complete by the end of the week, again thanks for the warm words, I really do miss my son so much that i have a young member here in town that I have adopted and he has given me the red light to help him mod his truck.

01DangerRanger 01-14-2011 09:30 AM

Ford04Ranger4.0 01-14-2011 03:09 PM

Sorry to hear about your son, I'm sure hes proud the way it looks now. I didnt think you could linex plastic, will it hold up as good if you were to line metal? Keep us posted on this build.

2001fordranger 01-14-2011 11:06 PM

yea plastic can be iffy, but if you prep it well, it can stick, Line X is applied at 180 degrees and what I did was took the bumper sanded it, prepped it as usually to prepare for paint and then used a flex inhibitor, I have done so many of them and a few members in the area seen the work and was very please with the products,

after all is done I will show a video of me hitting and flexing the lower valance with Line X, the stuff would not chip, it's a amazing products compared to Rhino. Thanks all for your comments and again I will start answering pm's for anyone that choose to travel down and help p[rep so that I could help you enjoy a Line x'ed vehicle also at no cost.

Billy4x4 01-14-2011 11:28 PM
