if it took you 6 months to get it, did your old plate expire, or did you actually order the new one 6 months before the expiration date? usually, people wait until the week the plate or sticker is about to expire before they order new ones. and if you didn't order it 6 months prior to the plate being expired, did you drive around with an expired plate ?

 

Here's the deal. I HAD Texas plates when I lived in Texas. My job relocated me to Oklahoma. Which in turn when I moved up here my tags were due. When I registered my truck here in Oklahoma I also (at the same time) order the personalized plate you see above. I had to wait 5-6 months for them to make the plate. In the mean time, when I paid for my registration here in Oklahoma I was issued a normal oklahoma plate. Now I have my personallized plate on my truck and my regular one inside the truck. which I am required by law to keep available in the truck. As far as coming back to Texas and getting TX plates yeah I will eventually, but I'll have duel residency so I'll keep them oklahoma for awhile.

here if you order a pers plate and what you had expired you get temp tags till your new one shows up ... ive never heard of keeping em both
