Attachment 196428 Attachment 196429 I will post some day time pics of it. It needs some repairs but should be a good fixer upper. OOPS!!! My bad it is a 1996 mustang. LOL too excited to get the year right lol. |
How in the heck did you get that for 600?? It doesn't looked wrecked from what I can see. Congrats either way.
wow..thats cheap...
What is wrong with it? |
itts prolly a v6.... thats whats wrong with it ;P
that looks really bad! you should send it to me right away.lol. congrats!
it is a V6 look at the rear valance, tires, and lack of fog lights.
blown motor or trans? time for 5.0L swap |
Yeah it has a lousy v6 but it runs and only thing it needs is a drivers seat and gas tanks leaks. Not bad for a $600 car.
Sweet. Nice find.

Here the daytime pics of the car:

I have a gas tank coming for $100 and possible a 2000 mustang seat for $75. I have to go monday and get my tank and see if the seat will fit. Will keep you guys posted. |
The dent on the driver side is from falling ice that hit the car. My father has a dent puller so we are going to see if we can pull out the dents. Also the spoiler is broke but i can get one from a junk yard.
OH yeah forgot the car only has 145k and the motor and transmission are out of a thunderbird. I have no idea when the previous owner did the motor/tranny swap. I guess this year mustang had issues with motors and trans. I am going to try to fix the v6 but if i can't get it running smoothly i am swapping it with either a 4.6l v8 or 5.0l v8.
Yeah in the interior pics you guys can see the panel off the passenger side door is because the previous owner tried to fix the door. Just needs the latch fixed no biggy.
Junk the v6 and get a nice carbed 5.0 and make it simple. Throw a AOD auto or a T-5 for manual. They had 5.0s in them the year before so fitting it isn't an issue.
Then beat the ever loving **** outa it and have fun. My 2 cents :biglaugh: |
OH yeah forgot it has a 5sp manual in it. LOL
I am actually going to fix it up and show her off at some car shows. This car in never being driven in the winter again.
Great find, good luck with the restoration
Throw a 5.0 in it with a really quiet exhaust, have one turndown and the other go to the stock spot so it still looks like its a v6. Then leave all the body panels how they are and everything else including wheels and you'll have a nice sleeper.
Yeah trust me i would love to do that but money is tight so i just need to get the v6 running for now. The v8 mod comes later and trust me if i can fit it there it going in there.
you just said two wrong words to jump into a basket case like that... "money is tight" been there done that..
Looks like a cool project
Honestly dude. I'd part it out and find something else. The amount of rust that thing has is horrible. Judging by everything else I have see it doesn't look worth putting money into it. If it was a classic it would be one thing and despite how much I love the 94-98 you could find something better to start with.
:stupid: 10000000% agree
all it needs is money and tlc...
congrats on the find but you aint gonna win any shows for a while.. |
Well the problem with mustang's and nystate is they are extremely hard to find without some type of rust on them. Remember here in nystate we have salt on our roads. Plus find me another mustang for this price i paid in better condition and i will buy it.
So anyways i will be dropping the gas tank this weekend. Wish me luck that i dont brake anything in the process lol..
