Buddy's crawler buggy pics...

2 Attachment(s)
We went over to my buddy's shop today to finish a quarter elliptical on my friends 4runner and I decided to take a couple of pictures from the front of this buggy that my other buddy has. If that makes any sense. It just looks really mean. On 44x19.5x15 boggers. My friend is 6'- 6'1 so that show's how big it is. I'll post up pics tomorrow of the quarter elliptical.

FX2.3 02-01-2009 12:06 AM

holy crap how much those things weigh?

mossyoak03 02-01-2009 12:07 AM

HOLY BEGEEZUS that thing is huge.

0RangerEdge2 02-01-2009 12:13 AM

That's awesome but either that axle is tiny, or the tire size makes it look tiny.

chainfire 02-01-2009 02:52 AM

Any specs on it?

trucks423 02-01-2009 03:01 AM

whats the deal with the tread going in two different directions?

Willzane 02-01-2009 03:22 AM

got any side pics of it?

Mykhael 02-01-2009 04:23 AM

Any pictures of it in action?

goliath553 02-01-2009 07:20 AM

There still building it. lol

And those axles do look small. A pair of rockwells would work a lot better.

Its not complete. I am guessing they just threw them on there for looks to get the pics.

cory07ranger4x4 02-01-2009 09:40 AM

yeah it's not complete... He just threw 2 tires on there. The front is only a built d44 full width. The rear is a built d60. It's only a 22re motor so I'm not sure he will have any problems with axles. His plan is to switch the axles but for now he's leaving them. He's not sure if he wants to run the 44" boggers or 40" ltb's. I think the coolest thing about it is you expect it to have a powerful v8 and you hear it and say, wait, that's only a 4cyl. haha.

98liftedranger 02-01-2009 09:51 AM

Doesn't matter how little his engine is those axles will snap so fast. That is really really small axle.

chainfire 02-01-2009 12:52 PM

It is all about the gearing. If he has a low enough crawl ratio, it will still be snapping **** left and right. I hope he ordered extra output shafts, axle shafts and ujoints. But oh well, you have to work with what ya got.

Downey 02-01-2009 12:54 PM

damn that is sick

no built D44 will hold up to a 44x1950 tire.. im sorry but that was a waste of money

cory07ranger4x4 02-01-2009 01:46 PM

I call bull$****...

99ranger4x4 02-01-2009 01:50 PM

yea?

if he has low enough gears to turn those tires.. then he has plenty of torque to snap a d44 shaft..

redranger4.0 02-01-2009 01:53 PM

That front axle is going to puke its guts out.

99ranger4x4 02-01-2009 01:57 PM

and there ya have it.

chainfire 02-01-2009 01:58 PM

Look on Pirate. Everyone there are running built 60's on anything over a 39.5. There is a reason for this. Rockcrawling is a massive load on your vehicle. Those might hold up in the mud, but on rocks, say goodbye. Not only are those tires tall, they are super wide. This equals a heavy tire, which equals a bigger axel needed.

I will enjoy seeing you call bull**** as axle shafts are wizzing past you on the trail
