Can anyone find the new mod I did?

With the help of my buddy Josh and Shane... I was able to finish it up tonight.

I know it says guess, but I'll just tell you..

Swapped out my K leafs for C leafs off a 02 fx4 lvl2.

Swapped out my 28 spline 8.8 for a 31 spline 8.8 with torsen and 4.10's (same ratio as my 8.8).

AND have a working e-brake cable!

Here's some pics. Shane has a bunch more. SHANE POST EM!!!

Stock 28spline...Note: look at the end of the housing, towards the backing plate...

Fx4 31spline...Note: the big 'stepdown' towards the end of the housing. Both 28spline and 31spline share the same outer axle bearings.....31spline tubes are 1/4" bigger in diameter than the 28spline...the stepdown is very noticable on the 31splines...

It's always good to see someone gettin pics of all the rigs. Every truck there is lifted. Even his dad's on 35's. Mom has like 32's and 20's on stock Tahoe... Jeep is on 38.5's with over 500hp and a 350 SBC. Dode is a 01 24v auto stage 5 chip with intake and exhaust and injectors. Chevy is 155hp chip, intake and straight 5in exhaust and new injectors... Not to mention it's half ford half chevy. lol

In my eyes, he'll NEVER be comparable to a Fx4 (the real ones....with nifty seats and chrome shifters). lol.

Well...if we had to list 'em all out....Axle(done), no tow hooks, no seats(imo), no shorty console(imo), Silver '03 gauges(done), he's got no skids, he's got the '02 grey door panels, no alum shaft, no extended breathers, no chrome shifter for the yet to be installed manual trans... I can keep going...but whatev. lol.

Chrome modified shifter is in the works. Pricing the fx4 shifter ball today. I'll have skids soon. Breather hoses I can go buy at Ace. I don't want the seats or center console (I'm half explorer, edge and fx4), I'll look for a alum shaft and the hooks are the only other thing.... Other than power windows and doors.

My old 4.10 axle went to a guy who was 3.73 and 35's...with a manual! blew up his trans, then the manual went in....and you could just barely drive the damn thing.

I told Tre to do it right, and do the gear swap to the new axle....he didn't listen. lol.

I'll just pay the money to Darrell to do it when it's time. I don't think I'll regear til I buy your D44 and run 37's. lol Then it's 4.88 time!

wow nice work guys! I never really realized how easy it is to replace an axle until Blackhawk ripped his out. (U-bolts were a PITA).
