Day of wheelin'

Went out with a buddy of mine through some back woods. I ended up puncturing a hole in my front differential, noticed after I got home...which sucks because I was driving through creeks and what not.

More shallow part

My buddies Jeep. Water ended up going into the interior, little Ranger to the rescue and got him out first try. I also went into that hole before him, and I didn't make it through either.

Oh and this is how we tested the depth of the creek. Drive into it backwards.

Nice pics... looks like a good time! How far did you drive it with no gear oil in the front diff?

The hole was actually on top of the case, so it filled up with water. I drove home about 50 miles, and today I pulled the fill plug and water gushed out, then pumped out all the old gear oil and filled it with new oil. I also patched the hole with JB weld for now.

Looks like a good time.

So I guess you are now in the market for a new front differential?

It was a blast. And currently I am just going to drive it till Christmas time and hopefully nothing got damaged from the water. I want to do a solid front axle up front but I don't have the time with school.

There are a few of us in the State College area. Does it have a dana 35 or a 28 under it?

28 I believe, not 100% sure. I know it has the 7.5 rear so I assume it would be the 28. You've probably seen me rolling around.

I wish I was up in the woods, I hate living here in the city area. Low speed limits everywhere, idiotic kids driving Audi's and what not that mommy and daddy bought them. I want to be on a back road, or in the woods tearing it up.

P.S. I go home almost every weekend, so I pass over the mountain often. Going up the mountain from Harrisburg gives the 4-cylinder a work out.
