A few pics out by the lake

Had almost 80* weather here today, so I washed the truck and headed out to the lake to shoot some pics and enjoy the fresh air.

I need to respray my front bumper/valance and do a couple other paint repairs this summer. The hazards of daily driver duties...

Very nice! Your truck has a very nice stance to it.

Thanks guys. It's already lowered 2/2, and the only thing I really want to change is to get 245/60 tires when my 235/70s wear out (which is coming soon) and get a l/s unit (probably trac-loc) for the rearend. I hook up a trailer for my quad and take this thing out on the dunes to go camping, and any lower would probably keep me on the pavement. I should probably get a bigger 4wd truck, but there is just something about this thing that makes me want to keep it all the time.

Love it!

That's exactly the kind of Ranger I want to get next. 94-97 step side reg cab.

I love the sorta old skool look your truck has with the 5 star wheels and the factory Splash graphics.

Throw some clear corners on it and billet grille and you're done!

I want crystal clear headlights and corners, but I have higher priorities. I've thought about billet grilles, but I kinda like the original splash grille. I don't see very many like it. And they're actually not factory graphics...... but close. The colors are close to factory for 95+ (93/4 had red/yellow/blue/white), but the striping is my own design, hand painted by a local guy that does amazing work.

Looks like my bumper repair is rescheduled for today.......I got bored and the weather is perfect for paint. And there's a show the 6th that I'm going to, and 2 shows with a trashed bumper is 2 too many.

More better pics when it's done.

That would be the mustang wranglers' all ford show and swap meet at the washington county fairgrounds. Going to be the VFO gtg for the month. I should probably post it up in the events forum in case anyone else is interested, as there is a club participation award up for grabs again.

Great looking truck. I think 06 Ranger badges would make it look great.

Post up pics when the bumper is done.

I definetly like the pinstriping, that's what sets the whole truck off. I especially like the colour combo.

Glad to see you're working on the bumper. If anything, that was the only improvement your great looking little rig needed.

Post pics when you're done!

They sand/graveled most of the roads around here this winter when it was all nasty. The first time I have ever seen it that snowy/icy for that long on the valley floor, and I'm almost 20 years old. I've never seen sanded roads this low, just some chemical de-icer sometimes. The debris being kicked up off the other cars just hammered the crap out of the cheap paint I used when I painted the whole truck last summer. I sprayed good stuff this time, so it should last forever.

Thanks for all the compliments. I did all the work myself, except for actually painting on the pinstriping. I like custom rides better when the owner has some real work in it, not a checkbook hot-rod or an autozone special.

wow, very nice.

Did you use a gun to spray it? That looks as good as factory.

Yes sir, real spray guns only around my house. We have some rattlecans, but the results are never as good as what can be had if you can spray with a gun. I like to think it's "better than factory" but I never actually saw the factory paint in decent condition on this truck. I bought it half done (thread in sig). I know with Imron clear, the durability should be better than factory.

I love the splash script but what's up with the GT Splash on the tailgate...it doesn't really match up.

The GT emblem was the previous owner's thing. I left it there when I repainted, hoping that someday I would cram another couple cylinders in it and give the badge some meaning.
