fired up the truck yesterday and took some flex pics

so my truck has been sitting for 4 months.. didnt even run it in that long too.. so i thought i should make sure the damn thing still runs so i fired it up and drove around the field. the truck has no insurance, tail lights, the gas filler tube is unbolted so i left it and tossed the cap on it.. im in the process of pulling the bed off. found a little gravel pile and decided to do some flexing. by the way, the truck fired up with NO problems even after sitting 4 months with a battery in it and connected.. i was impressed.

had to shut the truck off because the exhaust fumes were covering the truck

then the other side

truck doesnt have much gas in it so i had to push it off the pile back onto level ground and crank and crank and it finally fired up again... phew.. thought i was gonna have to drag it across the field with the tractor.
then i went up the pile some more.. didnt want to get real crazy because my passenger side leaf spring is falling apart. so i left the truck running this time.

and the other side, driver's rear tire started off the ground and its bald so not much traction..

yup if i didnt owe 3600 bucks on the damn thing and had something else to drive it would make a good trail truck. i have a tire that going on it to replace the baldy. the old girl definitely needs some TLC.. water pump leaks (just could be a gasket), needs front axleshaft u-joints, rear axleshaft (hub is bent i think), leaf springs.. all in time though.

Ah ok, on the road over to Hwy 97 then (I think thats the one, cross the bridge going west, highway turns right and the road's on the left?). Spent 6 years running pretty much solid Vancouver - Cowtown so that road got pretty familiar heh. I love that area though. LR

Nope, I was referring to the west end of town this time, out by DeMille's fruitstand, west of there (was originally thinking out on the east end where the 4 lane ends, straightaway and up over the knoll to Canoe - eastbound. Those properties look familiar). The road just by the tow yard, turns off and heads south and IIRC that road also heads right over to south of Falkland, on Hwy 97 but its been a long time since I've wandered through there. LR

yup got a quad, but drowned it in a truck mudbog 4-5 years ago and seized it up.. <<< its on the fix it list!!

i used to work at the yamaha shop in town and i borrowed a 2007 grizz 700 (barely fits in the ranger btw haha) and took it to the gravel pit and ripped it around... then couple weeks later i borrowed a 2003 grizz 660 and scooted through some tight *** dirtbike trails...

also thought about building a dune buggy too.. i have a 2.8 v6 with a fubar'd conrod bearing out of my s15 that i was gonna fix and through it in something.

ya havent decided what im gonna do with it yet... the rest of it is good just the conrod bearing is done for. i've been riding quads since i was 8-10 years old.. i used to assemble the new 09 grizzly's, rhino's etc.. did a few fixes also.. installed god knows how many winches.. change tires. a 98 kodiak 400 full time 4wd came in with the front driveshaft on the rack, so i got tip the quad on its *** and replace the ujoints and put the shaft back on and it needed a new muffler.. assembled god knows how many snow plows... i lost count!!

yup i do.. eventually i wanna put a 6 inch lift and 33 or 35 tsl's. its made daily driver when its insured. the old girl has a bent hub (passenger rear) i think because the tire has a HORRIBLE wobble to it. and i know its not the rims. i had a set of expo rims on it when i slide sideways onto some dudes lawn. i was ****ting my pants because the front pass side corner of the bumper missed a telephone/power pole by like 4 inches.

right now just cleaning it up and replacing parts.. first thing is making the payments on the damn thing then leaf springs, might do that when the bed is off.. not sure yet depending on price..

yup.. i got a 5000 dollar line of credit, then my parents paid the other 1100 on it.. i paid 6100 canadian for the truck. then i paid 1000 bucks on the loan, then the slave cylinder went and didnt have time to fix it so i took it to a shop that cost 1000 to fix (slave, labour and a couple other clutch parts) and of course didnt have the cash so i had to refinance the truck to pay for it.. so then i was back up to 5000. to this day i have paid another 1500 or so on it. here's a pic of what it looked like the day i got it, looked much nicer back then

the point is, right now the truck is worth 2000 bucks. if i owe 3600 on it, so if i sell it for 2000 and put it on the loan i still owe 1600 on something i dont have.. which im not real excited about that..

im slowly paying for it.. just cant afford to drive it right now.
