are you kidding me! Uxbridge I live 5 minutes from there that's crazy! Do the police have any intention of finding out who did it? and I guess I should be installing an alarm system or something.

So where were you on Sat night? Can I see pics of your system. *jk* Yeah it was found in Uxbridge on Lake Ridge road on a unassumed road.

The cops don't seem like they are going to look into it but I will call today for a status update.

How? Any evidence, if there even was any, is burnt to a crisp. Unless there was a camera at the bar that recorded high resolution color video up close and someone happens to recognize the subject, or someone randomly confesses, there isn't much the police can do. And concidering it was DARK, I wouldn't hold out much hope for the video thing.

the only problem is that w/e you post on here can be seen by anyone with internet access, they don;t have to register... so thats why its a good idea to watch what you post on here... not saying that's what happened, but just putting it out their, thieves are getting smarter :-(

sorry to hear about your truck, that thing looks bad
sorry about your loss. as for insurance covering any loss, i know he posted they will. since it was a new truck that was probably financed, it would be in his policy "if the vehicle in question is written off in the first 6 months, the insurance company will replace 100% of the vehicles' cost" or something like that. mine has it as i'm financing it as well.

Take a drive down Ohio St/Tift/ Fhurman BLVD by the waterfront or take a look over in the old Steel Mill Lot in Lackawanna on RT 5. It happens all over, its just not on the news.

You could always find burnt cars under the Skyway, now they ( sometimes ) push them off the pier there and into the water. I saw a wrecker ' fishing ' cars out before.

My condolences for all of it. Thieves should have their hands cut off. Theres NO excuse for robbing someone else at all!

on the subject of torching cars

Quote:
(01 March 1998) Randy Nestor, 28, was a considerate car thief. When the stolen cars became hot, he didn't just abandon them, he torched them. Setting the cars on fire, he reasoned, helped the owners collect insurance on their vehicles. This criminal habit became his downfall. After a 10-year career of theft, Randy burned to death in Pittsburgh, PA in a van which he had set fire to from the inside. He hadn't realized that the door handle on the driver's side was broken. Friends tried to release him, but the door was locked. His burned body was found inside the van on Sunday.

I have "no depreciation" clause in my insurance. So for the first 2 years, anything happens, they have to pay out pretty much what I paid for it unless I overpaid for the truck. I have opened a claim, they have looked at it and they are just waiting for paper work from me and then they will make me an offer and I go out and buy a new truck.

I think that I would really kill someone if they did that to mine. No joke, or at least blow their knee's and elbows out.

Sucks man, what does insurance have to say? *Edit, you beat me to it.

Well the insurance company paid me out today and I called the dealership but they said it was going to take 3 weeks to get a new truck so my friend suggested I look for something new. Well I test drove like 9 cars and I ended up with this

Here you go

2006 Honda Civic Si with 20000km, tinted windows and all for like $15k so I am happy!

I guess it's bye bye truck world to me.

Dude that totally sucks, I would suggest you invest in an alarm for your new car, even though its not my car of choice, but I have put alarms on both of my trucks.... it might be a tad expensive but well worth it, even if its just for peace of mind. Good luck with your new car man...

Thanks for the advice. I am going tomorrow to a shop near my work so have some 2-way pager alarm installed. It's about $600 CAN installed but I think it is worth it and now I have the club attached to the steering wheel when I leave it.

alarms are pointless anyone that has dealt with them enough can by pass it. where as a $1 switch and a decent amount of wiring and incorporating a fuel cut out switch in your vehicle is IMO better.. takes way more time to find/figure out what you did. time is important if its hard to steal they usually give up...

cars have roll over switches. jump the wiring at some point and add another switch to kill the fuel pump. incorporate it into things and hide it. get a little creative.. the more the better..

also can do spark.. same thing as the "kill switch" you hear olden days people say.. mine is just used to kill the fuel pump.. in other words if they start it, it might run for about 10 sec then is done with fuel and no go...
