Grenade!

And I thought it would have happened to me in the Ranger..just takes a lowered 4banger mazda I guess haha. Well the pictures tell all, rear ended popped on me going only 35-40 atleast. Could have happened going 70 like I was about 5 min before this. The cause i have narrowed down to maybe somthing in the pinion bearing seazing it, or it was bad lash cause I noticed some nasty cuts into the carrier so it may have been happening for a while and then the shavings got into the bearing and then boom. Either way it scarred the **** out of the lady behind me hah. Picked up a donor axle drum to drum for 59 bux at a local used parts place so that was sweet. I just popped the old carrier out and the donor one in.. i love 3rd-member rearends!

crappy cell pics

getting under the truck to wire up the d-shaft was rear fun with no jack and being low.

on top of this there was a fist full of goodies left in the housing that I had to clean like hell before I could install the new one.
