YES! ditch that brushguard for sure. It covers up the pretty grille lol. There will be another one of these threads soon from another member haha I'm shipping his stx off today

1 tiny thing that will also look better (imo) is if you paint the ring on the corners black but thats your call.

so anyone want to buy a brush guard?

well the backstory is I traded this to Brian (BlackRanger04) for my factory 06 chrome grill. We met up today and swapped grills, I took a few pics a the Pilot before I left. Came back to Lexington and dropped it off for paint. They are painting the surround blue and repainting the black insert as well.

As for the corners, I think that's the way the plastic is, like those are the ridges showing through from the backside (similar to the whitish spot in the middle) kinda bugs me too but not a lot to do about that.

Also a funny note... the two STX grilles that showed up on here recently are both getting painted sonic blue! (at least I assume that's what Mike is doing)

Ah, thats right. I painted my ring around the 06 corners i had because i took them apart lol. you can't really get at it with the housing still on.
Mike has a few things up his sleeve that I won't spoil and you'll have to wait on haha

so how would i mount them behind the grill? i looked and it doesnt look like I have much space. I guess I would need to make some sort of tabs for them? anyone have some pics of how theres are mounted? the underdog light tabs say they dont work on 06 up, not sure how i should go about it.

There's lots of room behind the grill. I mounted mine to the plastic shroud behind the grill. Some people mount them to the top of radiator support

Vista, mine has some sort of little radiator right there where your passenger side light is.
