Hey Beard..

You asked about this before.. I sorta appropriated photos..

Those plates I put on my frame..

I finally came around to doing this soo..

I have to put the cross brace in and gusset the bloody hell out of it but.. I don't think I'll snap this setup. I'm VERY disappointed in how weak the Competition Eng. Panhard setup was. It didn't last long at all.

Cheers.

No, that's a set of lakewood traction bars.

As Dustin stated, those are Lakewood Traction bars.

If your engine has enough torque, when the gas is mashed, the leaf springs ' Wrap ' or ' Distort '. due to the axle twisting from the forces being applied to it.

What those ' bars ' do is take the energy and focus it by not allowing the springs to wrap up and ' bounce ' the tires off the ground.

Tab/mount I made for the other side. I ran out of mig wire and used the stick with 6013. I should have went and bought more wire LOL!. Its 3/8ths plate steel, Its stronger then I will ever need. The bar being 0.190 thickness though.. Its the weak point in all of it ( as I found out when it folded under pressure ). The new Bar.. I filled it, its not hallow so its bending ability is muted a bit.

D, you should Z that bar and move the mount up to the frame, i bet that bracket bends/twists the frame.

I have a crossbar to stabalize it that runs to the back of the bar mounting bracket and the other frame rail as well as a crossbar between the 2 ( triangulated ). I'll have full on pics when its all cleaned up and tested. I'm hoping for a light drizzle of rain later in the week.. they just laid down some new s-turns here in an industrial park and I have a fresh set of RSA's out back to burn
