Hey Beard..
You asked about this before.. I sorta appropriated photos..
Those plates I put on my frame..

I finally came around to doing this soo..

I have to put the cross brace in and gusset the bloody hell out of it but.. I don't think I'll snap this setup. I'm VERY disappointed in how weak the Competition Eng. Panhard setup was. It didn't last long at all.
Cheers.

As Dustin stated, those are Lakewood Traction bars.
If your engine has enough torque, when the gas is mashed, the leaf springs ' Wrap ' or ' Distort '. due to the axle twisting from the forces being applied to it.
What those ' bars ' do is take the energy and focus it by not allowing the springs to wrap up and ' bounce ' the tires off the ground.

Tab/mount I made for the other side. I ran out of mig wire and used the stick with 6013. I should have went and bought more wire LOL!. Its 3/8ths plate steel, Its stronger then I will ever need. The bar being 0.190 thickness though.. Its the weak point in all of it ( as I found out when it folded under pressure ). The new Bar.. I filled it, its not hallow so its bending ability is muted a bit.

I'm still hunting down the rest of the pics with the bar fabrication..
