Hit a damn deer.

Don't worry too much, it was in the Dodge.

I was heading to a movie with a buddy of mine. Chit chatting, and not paying attention to the road much. I was doing about 75 when I saw it, slammed on the brakes, and hit it at about 60. It hit the bottom of my bumper, and I ran it over. There was a car behind me about 3 car lengths back, I remember, but I'm not sure if they hit it or not, or if they got in the other lane.

Anyway, here are a couple pictures. I'll get some more in the morning:

I can't believe the air bags didn't go off.

And for those wondering, no, I didn't stop. There was a ton of traffic behind me, so I didn't want to cause a wreck by stopping. I know, the deer could have caused a wreck too, and now thinking about it, I feel bad. I went to the next parking lot and inspected the damage, and nobody else had been swerving on the highway that I could see to avoid anything, so I imagine the deer was still alive and got out of the road.

Either way I am pretty bummed. I guess I really need a new bumper now.

Ouch, sorry to hear that, and glad no-one was hurt, but get used to saying the deer hit you, not sure what your insurance is like, but here, you hit it, its collision, and you pay deductable, if it hits you its comprehensive or whatever and no deductable, dont ask its a screwy system had a cop ask me did you hit it, or (direct hint) "Did the deer hit you" anyway again, glad no-one was hurt.

Doesn't look too bad. I hit a cat yesterday and I thought the damn thing would be mush when I stopped. But after I heard the thump looked in my rear view mirror the thing took off. So I didn't stop cause I figured I would never find it anyway.

Well as they say "If you can't Dodge it, Ram it". Suck man, but look at it this way, if it was the Ranger it would have been a lot worse.

Yeah, that's why I am very glad that I didn't drive the Ranger last night.

I probably won't tell my insurance company. The truck is fine, and I would rather not have my rates go up. Plus, how am I supposed to say the deer hit me when the front end of my truck is messed up?

"The deer was going like 60! I was at a dead stop!".

I definitely need to change my night driving habits.

Hahhaa.

Last night, my friend and I were talking, and came to the conclusion that the deer was Ramowned.

So I drove down to where I hit the deer last night. It is dead on the side of the road.

Apparently when I hit it, it was scared ****less, because there was more poop then there was blood on the road. The deer was pretty well messed up.

And after inspecting the truck some more this morning, I actually don't feel as bad as I did last night. Makes me feel better about the truck too.

Next up is to make the Ranger taller so deer go under it too. LOL!

Sorry man. It could be worse, you could be dead. Hopefully all you need is a new bumper. Luckily you did not hit it with the Ranger.
