i did the plasti dip mod

Did the rear bumper today so I'm all done and very happy with the results from plastidip :)



I'll add a tip for plastidip to not tape off closely the part your doing but to leave a gap and peel the excess to make the edge vs trying to tape the edge. Better edge and easier job... I screwed up one part of my front bumper with a taping error vs just letting the plastic do the edge.

The keyhole I did I just taped a square leaving an 1" plus around and it's perfect circle I could never had done with taping.

yep. thats the beauty of plasti dip! soooo easy to work with, and any sharp edges will make the perfect trim for the part.

i ordered the plasti dip clear and the new plasti dip smoke spay. i will be using the smoke on the head lights and the clear on the wheels. i will update once it arrives

Did you remove the wheels from the truck to do it?
How long does it take to cure?

I did remove them, put the caps and lugs back on and touched up where needed

well just a update, i orderd the smoke and the clear plasti dip. it has been on back order and should be here in the next few days. i will update as soon as i can. the plans are to smoke out the headlights and redo my wheels and then clear.

well i got the smoke and the clear today, i can say i had high hopes, i think to high. the product goes on and works like the orginal. i bought it thinking i would smoke out my head lights and other random items. it just didnt dry as clear as i thought it would , o well

yeah well now we know. i sprayed some on a old ford emblem i had to see how it would do. sorta has that black chrome look. may do my emblems and key holes .

I talked my buddy to do it on his 07. truck looks alot better he didnt take the greatest care of his wheels

well i dont have any of some on the rockers but i did use the clear plasti dip on my hood




i used it as a rock shield. the key to this stuff is to spray it on thick so it comes off easy

I just bought 4 cans today across the border... $5.38/can compared to ~$17 here!

Spray it on thick.... So multiple light coats or one or two thick coats??

we did 3 good thick coats on the red 07.
