Icon10 Interior overhaul on the new 99!

So those of you who know I just picked up a 99 ranger 3.0L FFV 5 speed 4wd from my work for $1,300 and it was FILTHY. So after a trip to the salvage yard and $175 later I got a new leather wrapped steering wheel, 2 seats, and the carpet! Now its like a whole new truck inside lol. Not only were the old seats stained up but the back supports were broken and I would sink into the seat What do you guys think? Oh and I hit a milestone the other day as well. 230,000 miles! OH!!!!!!!!!! And I forgot to add that this thing gets INCREDIBLE gas mileage! I drove 435 miles on 17.7 gallons of gas. 24.5mpg!!! I love the hell out of this truck! Hahaha

Wow, man that floor is still very clean for the mileage. It'd be interesting to see a carfax on the truck and to see exactly how quickly those miles got put on the truck

24.5 mpg?!?!?!? What the hey man!!! I have a 99 3.0 with 185k miles and I get 14 MPG. My seats looked the same as those and the drivers seat didn't have any cushion left in it like yours. Looks good so far! I bet you can tell a hell of a difference with the seats, I know I did.

Freddie, the Autocheck (more detailed than carfax) which is what we use at work shows that it was a 1 owner but I don't know about the miles. I will have to look at it again.

John and Evan, Don't know if I will change from the 3.0L Would like more power but this thing gets better gas mileage than I could EVER expect from a 4wd!

And yes Tom I too was in SHOCK when I had over 250 miles on the first half tank haha. By the time the "Check Gage" light came on it was at 435 lol. It pumped 17.7 gallons which = 24.5mpg. Let me tell you, I was absolutely BLOWN away when I got this haha. I went to work the next day and rubbed it in the faces of everyone that told me not to buy a 230K mile Ford lol. They almost threw a fit when I told them 1,000 miles I have put on it and not a single issue and incredible gas mileage because there were about 3-4 other guys that wanted this thing when they found out how much it was then got inside and seen how dirty it was and how many miles were on it and turned and run. I like to think I saved this thing from the yard! And yes these new seats are MUCH more comfortable than the old worn out ones!!!

Oh and coming soon is a 4" suspension lift and new wheel/tire combo

Lucas, lol yeah probably a little but I'm only getting 32's and on my old EDGE with the same wheel/tire size as this truck it made almost no difference in gas mileage so who knows.

Andrew I do not. They were messed up so I ditched them.

Ha I could have guessed you would like it Zach. I am just excited for the 4" suspension lift and new American Racing Baja's and BFG A/T's. Will be real similar to your truck ha

Ha yeah these trucks are not very consistent it seems. I would have NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would see anything above 20-21mpg in this thing. I was laughing and making a scene at QT when I calculated my mileage haha.

Looks good. One of my back support bars on the drivers seats is snapped, but not that noticeable. I do want new seats and a console, but until i have the funds I have to make do with what I got. I either want a FX4 Buckets and console or the Tremor seats and console.

Yeah Mykhael it was! I am really happy to have the inside done and cleaned up now. Was so disgusting before I was so excited to drive it but at the same time couldn't stand the smell or seats haha. Now I just have to save for the new throw out bearing and might as well put in a new clutch while it's all taken apart. After that is the 4" lift, new wheels and tires! :)

Mike, I do have cleaned up pics of the seats. Just not the carpet yet lol.

Brandon, I know what ya mean. I am broke after buyin the truck and putting the new interior in. Just hope that throw out bearing doesn't go out till I can get enough saved to get her fixed up!
