JunkYardRanger build pics

These are pics from right after I bought it to how it is sitting almost done

The original truck is a 95 Ranger XLT4x4, 4.0 M50DR1 trans and 1354 case

June of 2008 I removed the factory 8.8 and 35 TTB front and installed a dana 60 rear FF and a Dana 44 HD front the truck had a total of 16 inches of lift which consisted of a 3 in body lift 6 in front chevy lift springs, and 7 inches of perch. The rear utilized Factory 1977 F250 high boy springs and a 4 in block I built it on a set of 38 swampers on 16.5 x 10 steel wheels once the build was complete I changed the tires to 39.5 Boggers on 16.5 x 12 MT classic II wheels

The truck remained like that until February when I decided to tear it apart to go bigger. I replaced the axles with 2.5 ton GM axles. I flipped the front axle to make it standard rotation. because this is a huge budget build, I made tall perches instead of larger springs to raise the truck 6 more inches. the rear perches are 10 in tall and the fronts are 5in tall. the reason I say 6 inches of lift added the new axles have 4 in dia tubes and the old are only 3 in. With going larger I added a small sub frame to lower my ladder bar angle and help protect my second transfer case I added which is a dana 24. The tires I am going to be running as seen in the last picture, are 14.00 - 24 R4 grader tires. I still have to finish my sub frame, my rear drive shaft front shocks and rims for my tires .... I have not taken updated pics since I installed the second case and the front shaft My interior was stripped down to dash and 2 racing seats. Once I finish up the build I will adding a 8 point cage and eventually a 466 BB

I saw this on ChucksTrucks, it'll be a cool mud truck when it's done. How are perches welded on any different from blocks besides the fact they are welded? (not sarcasm, serious)

Oh yeah, do you still have your old 8.8?

A block goes inbetween the spring perch and leaf spring a perch is a solid one piece can not slip, slide, or turn . ..... we all know what the spring perch is on the axle and most people when they lift a truck reuse factory springs and will add anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of block ..... the block just sits inbetween the perches I built take place of the block it is solid 3/8 steel welded together and welded to the axle like a flat perch ... my perches are just 10 in tall .... and no I do not have any of the factory parts left

Those perches are scary, I dont care if they are slightly better then a block cause they cant be spit out. If your gonna build a mud truck at least get some stupidly tall springs or something.

Lowering a 4x4 is like lifting a 2x4 it is useless point less and just plain ol stupid
