that thing is cool

David N 09-27-2009 09:14 AM

Looks good and cool rig. Hows it on power with the stroker kit?

4x4RangerOffroad 09-27-2009 09:21 AM

Its got balls, I was very inpmressed. I out ran my buddy with a 5.0 in his ranger. we are built almost identical. as far as gears tire size.

brianjwilson 09-27-2009 09:36 AM

Sweet.
What is in the axles for gears and differentials?
Be easy on the front axle too, my friend use to break his d30 (mostly u-joints) on a regular basis.

venom97 09-27-2009 10:05 AM

not a fan of those style grand cherokee's usually but you have a very nice ride!:biggthump

RangerNDog 09-27-2009 10:10 AM

Looks fun man. Like brianjwilson said be careful with that d30, 34's and the power from the 4.5L

04blackedge 09-27-2009 10:46 AM

Gah I want it

4x4RangerOffroad 09-27-2009 12:31 PM

Thanks for the comments guys. The d30 wont be to bad, when it breaks Ill go bigger I put new axles and all new ujoints for the front and rear driveshaft. Gears are 4:10's locked rear, open front. Havent been in th woods yet but Im sure it wont be bad. Ill get more pics once it stops raining.

truckcap22 09-27-2009 12:55 PM

holy puffy seats! looks good man..

OVERtheEDGE 09-27-2009 12:58 PM

4x4RangerOffroad 09-27-2009 01:02 PM

Looks real good man, now you can ride in comfort while off-roading.

chainfire 09-27-2009 03:57 PM

Did you do the stroker kit by yourself? Who did you use? I have a buddy building up an XJ with a blown motor, and he has been looking at one.

robert99ranger 09-27-2009 03:59 PM

Nice, was kinda hoping that it was a Ranger though. Oh well, looks good.

I used Hesco, its basically a 4.5-almost 6, from what Ive read and looked at, it should be producing 269hp @ 4800rpm and 340lbft @ 2500rpm. Thats from ajeepthing and hesco.

I love mine, Ive always wanted a lifted GC, Im gunna do a longarm 8in with in a month or so, I want it bigger.
I think I caught the jeep thing.

99ranger4x4 09-28-2009 06:55 AM

6.5" on short arms?

generally unless you mud bigger isn't better imo. My buddy has claytons on his ZJ with a 3.5" lift and 32s. 8" is wayyy too tall on a grand.

4x4RangerOffroad 09-28-2009 12:04 PM

Its gunna be a mall crawler for the next year or so, with minimal sense less trips into the woods. My buddy has an 8in long arm on his xj, the thing is sick.

99ranger4x4 09-28-2009 12:08 PM

check out mallcrawlin.com its pretty much all ZJ and WJ owners with a few oddballs like me tossed in

i ran 35" swampers on my yj d30 and 8.8 rear with an ox locker and a 380hp built 350 and had no problems...it wasnt until i lowered my ratio and went to 37's that i grenaded my front end...broke the gears. surprised how strong an 8.8 with superior super88 kit was

but nice zj...ive always liked those...btw i thought the 4.0 strokers were like 4.7L?

BOBO 09-28-2009 04:54 PM

hey where do you go to get the long arms only? im runnin the same GC as you only a 93 with the stock v8 and a 3.5" lift but i have the 2" coil spacers in the barn and i wanted to long arm it b4 i through em on.
